EJU Founded at the European Jewellers' Federation Summit in Budapest

During the annual gathering of the European Jewellers' Federation in Budapest, 23 leading industry players from across Europe agreed to establish the European Jewellery Union — a new, independent commercial organisation aimed at transforming the sector.

The European Jewellery Union was officially established on June 2, 2025, during the annual summit of the European Jewellers' Federation in Budapest, Hungary. The founding ceremony brought together 23 leading figures from the jewellery industry representing five European nations.

The decision to create EJU came after months of discussions about the need for a unified commercial platform that could serve both independent jewellers and investors looking to enter the precious metals and gemstone markets.

EJU's founding charter outlines three core objectives: creating transparent supply chains from manufacturer to consumer, providing accessible investment opportunities in the jewellery sector, and building a pan-European distribution network that benefits all members equally.
